Thank you Lord for your promises and faithfulness.
In your Word, there are examples of people who diligently seek you Elijah, Samuel, Gideon. You took delight in them and cared for them. There impact resonated throughout history because of your grace and provision. You’ve taken care of and accelerated my results – no debt as an undergraduate, finished my doctorate in five years without a Master’s, my dream job at UNT Dallas in 5 years, trip to Madrid and Canada, etc. The adventure that comes from self discipline excites me and gives me the opportunity to lean on you. I am grateful.
Forgive me for not remembering. Forgive me for prioritizing laziness over your plans. Forgive me for choosing connection to people over you. Help me to remember your promises, my altars. I’m standing on your Word. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:23). It’s not within my own power. Self-control comes from pressing into you, from wanting more of you.
For that pursuit I am seen. For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose arts are fully committed to you. 2 Chronicles 16:9
My value does not increase by the works of my hands. AMEN! Selah!
