Empty Rooms and Stolen Territory: Assessing Your Greatest ‘Failure’

Today is the first day after Tony Robbins’ annual Time to Rise Summit.

Last week, I was riding the wave of that energy. I did what every “online business blueprint” tells you to do: I created a resource, I advertised a live session, and I prepared to lead. I wanted to test a new business model—one that would help people actually implement what they learned through the workbooks, journals, and planners I create.

I called it the 2026 Implementation Breakthrough. The result? No one completed the form. No one signed up for the Zoom.

I showed up to that empty room anyway. I hit “Record” because I’m a “Make Moves, Not Excuses” person. But as I sat there, I realized… I absolutely hated it.

I looked at what others were doing—the high-octane energy, the polished performances—and I realized I had zero desire to “do it better” than them. Not because I’m lazy, but because I was wearing someone else’s armor. In that silence, I had to stop and audit my soul with two questions:

Question 1: Is this “Chickening Out” or is it “Alignment”?

Chickening out is running because you’re afraid of the effort. Alignment is realizing you’re running toward a goal that isn’t yours. I wasn’t afraid of the “hard”; I was repulsed by the “hollow.” I realized my “move” belongs in the high-level architecture of products and blueprints—the design I’ve used to build legacies in higher education and real estate for over twenty years. I wasn’t failing to perform; I was finally admitting that my design is about infrastructure, not theater.

Question 2: What am I committed to taking back from the enemy today?

In John 10:10, we are reminded that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He wants to steal your momentum and destroy your confidence using the silence of an empty Zoom room.

I decided right then that the enemy wasn’t going to have my day. I had a deeper reason to fight for my time.

In July 2017, my Bigmama died unexpectedly in my arms as we prepared for Sunday dinner. In that moment, the world stopped, but the legacy began. After her death, I decided to expand my impact and honor her by building businesses focused on shifting mindsets and building generations.

Then came 2025. My 25-year marriage ended in divorce, and my dad died in June. The enemy didn’t just want my business; he wanted my spirit. But I decided that every arrow or weapon meant for my destruction would be rerouted to the front line of the Kingdom.

Today, I’m taking back the territory:

  • I took back my Authenticity: I traded the “Live Coach” persona for the “Master Architect” of tools. I’m going to the front lines with my own stones, not Saul’s armor (1 Samuel 17:39).
  • I took back my Peace: The moment I pivoted to something that played to my strengths, I felt an immediate sense of relief. That relief is alignment.
  • I took back my Time: Life is too short to “fix” a model that makes me miserable. I redeemed that time for the work that actually helps you win.

The “Spoils” of the Silence

The “gold” I found in that empty room was clarity. My premium offer doesn’t need to include my face on a camera for three hours; it needs to include my brain on your blueprint. I’m moving forward as the product of the inner city who knows how to build out of “forgotten spaces.”

What did the enemy try to steal from you this week? Ask those two questions, get your territory back, and reroute the attack to the front lines.

P.S. If you’re feeling that heavy friction right now—wondering if you’re “chickening out” or just in the wrong lane—don’t let the enemy keep you in confusion. Grab the [30-Day Mindset Detox Planner] and spend the next month clearing the noise so you can finally hear your real “Move.”
